A: We are 100% grass-fed AND finished beef. This means from the day they are born they are NEVER supplemented with grain. They spend their entire life grazing on pasture and cover crop grasses which allows them to get their natural exercise daily.  This allows for them to have a balanced diet since there are anywhere from 10-20 different species of plants growing at the same time in our pastures and cover crops. Our beef are supplemented with brome grass hay in the winter months when grazing power is low.

 Q: Is grass-fed beef healthier over grain-fed?

A: Grass-fed beef usually has higher concentrations of some nutrients: antioxidants, some vitamins, a kind of fat called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and the long-chain omega-3 fats mostly found in fish. Grass-fed cattle have less fat overall. Omega-3 levels in grass-fed beef generally are about 50% higher than common grain-fed beef.

A: All meat that we sell comes from our cows that we have calved and raised ourselves and are never more then 10 miles from our family farm until the day they go to slaughter. Some companies contract their cattle; this is not us! We know exactly where/when/what our cattle have been eating and it is important to us to know these facts so that our consumers (You), as well, can have this information if requested upon.

Q: What is dry aging?

A: Dry aging is the natural process of tenderizing the meat. This is done right after slaughter known as hanging weight ("field dress" for you hunters). Depending on the animal, our animals may hang up to 21 days. This is an advantage to you because you also don't have to pay for the extra water weight, which can be up to 30%
